The Canadian Youth Chess Championship (CYCC) is a qualifier for the World Youth Chess Championships to be held in Turkey in the fall of 2009. This is the second CYCC to be held in Victoria, BC. Many extras are being planned for the 2009 CYCC. We are looking forward to seeing you at the 2009 CYCC.

The cut off for early registration is May 15th at 12 midnight PST except for OYCC players. OYCC players may use the discount code between May 24th and May 31st. CODE: OYCC_Participant Mail in for OYCC players, please specify OYCC on the registration form and mail a cheque for $175 until May 31st.

Please register on or before June 30th. Online registration ends July 20th at 9:30 pm. Onsite registration is ends at 11:00 am on July 21. Onsite registration is possible on July 20 (from 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm) in Confederation Park and July 21st (from 10:00 am to 11:00 am) in the Hotel Grand Pacific.

Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Canadian resident for at least 12 months. Players with any question about their own eligibility to compete should contact Ellen Nadeau, Canadian Youth Chess Coordinator at ellennadeau@yahoo.ca to verify eligibility. Failure to do so and not meeting the requirements could result in withdrawal from the tournament and/or ineligibility for awards.

Players must be current members of the Canadian Chess Federation. Please make sure your membership is valid until July 24th 2009 or later. Memberships may be purchased on line www.chess.ca
